Sitestar Partners with Akamai Technologies to Provide Subscribers Faster
Access to Popular Web Content

ENCINO, Calif., Oct 26, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Sitestar.net, the ISP division
and wholly-owned subsidiary of Sitestar Corporation (OTC BB:SYTE), announced
today that it has partnered with Akamai by becoming an Akamai Accelerated
Network and has deployed Akamai servers in its network to provide better
performance to end-users.

Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ:AKAM) is known as the foremost provider of global,
high performance services for the delivery of Internet content, streaming media,
and applications.

Akamai's Internet content, streaming media, and application delivery service
improve Web site speed, performance, and reliability by delivering rich Web
content from its network deployment of more than 3,000 servers, located close to
Sitestar's Internet end-users. As an Akamai Accelerated Network, Sitestar offers
customers access to a wide range of popular Web content in a rapid and reliable
fashion, while experiencing faster downloads from more than 1,000 leading Web
properties across all industries, including financial services, retail,
e-commerce, entertainment, software distribution and publishing. A listing of
many "Akamaized" sites is available at www.akamai.com.

"Akamai's Accelerated Network infrastructure allows us to deliver to our
subscribers an enhanced Internet experience. In particular, our ISDN, DSL and
T-1 customers will see amazingly fast page views and downloads," said Joseph M.
Albanese, executive vice president and director of the Sitestar's ISP Division.
"Unlike customers of traditional ISPs, Sitestar's subscribers will experience
the full potential of the Internet.

"As an Akamai Accelerated Network, we can now provide a higher quality of
multimedia content to our subscribers. By installing Akamai's servers, our
subscribers will receive faster downloads of streaming media, applications and
content served on the Akamai network that they couldn't get with most other
ISPs," Albanese concluded.

"Sitestar's strategy is complementary to Akamai's business model of improving
the Internet experience of Web properties and end-users alike," said Avi
Freedman, vice president of Network Architecture at Akamai. "Having Sitestar as
an Akamai Accelerated Network enables us to extend our high-performance services
to the users of Sitestar's network and deliver benefits of exceptional Web
performance."
