Teresa Lo on her thread had a funny story about having three jars on her desk labelled "hope", "moan" and "despair". Anytime someone at the firm avoided selling and started hoping for a bounce to get out, they had to put in some money into the hope jar. When the position started to make them moan in pain, they had to put some in the moan jar. And then when they finally sold in despair . . . you guessed it.

Supposedly a lot of drinks were bought from the despair jar.

Wonder which one people would be putting money into today if they could. My LT portfolio is way past moan -- the only thing that is making me hold it is that I'm running an experiment about LTB&H. I want to see if holding CSCO, INTC, SUNW, EMC, YHOO, ORCL etc etc (think technology blue chips) can get a portfolio to $0 if held long term . . .

-A
