Mind boggling.. when I sold the last of my mutual funds (I posted on SI about 2 months ago).. I had an ordeal on the phone trying to explain why I was selling them after only 6 weeks. I tried to tell them 20% was quite enough. Those same mutual funds now are at 22% losses.

DAVE: Fine post. I note that Robby Stephens hasn't been recommending and setting price targets much anymorer. I remember when they were spewing 'em out oh so rapidly. (Lee)

Whatapackofjackasses! So, what else is new? "We elevate our buy ratings, so we can dump our unfavorable positions." I do feel sorry for anyone who takes those people seriously. They are probably as good as you or I or anyone else as stock pickers. Unfortunately, when those calls were made they were "jumping on the band wagon" to increase the %'s of their funds. That's the bottom line for them after all...
It's a shame they aren't held accountable for their trades after they come out with their reccomendations. Here's hoping...one day the playing field will be leveled. I have a feeling, if that were the case, half of those brokers would be living in NJ and taking a 2hr subway ride to work. That would make my day!

Have you seen that commercial on CNBC (don't remember what co. it is!) Something to do w/ honesty in the work place etc. Q:Do you buy stocks and upgrade them after the fact?
A: Of course we do! How the hell do you expect us to make money otherwise? We, errr... really can't pick stocks fundamentally.

Q:Do you network with other brokers and decide specific down times for stocks? I.E. GDP reports, CPI, PPI etc?

A:Hell yes! With this new disclosure law were up against, we have to make the most of information coming out. We manipulate our butts off when this is the case. I mean, just look at the fiber op sector? Was that a great concerted effort or what? And people should be careful, you never know what sector we'll hit next! Look out biotechs! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Q;When a company that you are following has outstanding earnings, what is your procedure? We realize you have a per share cost avg. on the co. but what do you do at that point?

A:Well, I have to tell you that if we are up in the position, we issue all sorts of upgrades etc. and then sell on the spike. Let's face it, we rode the train long enough, everything retraces right? We book in our %'s just like we were trained to do. Then everyone's happy!

Q:Do you ever try to manipulate pre market activity by buying and selling to your self?

A:Well, I'd be un-american if I didn't admit that one to you. Of course we do, heck, it only takes trades of 100-200-300-400 etc shares to manipulate pre or post market trading. Then, naturally the suckers out there panic, time and again. My mother hates when I do that, but....I do pay for her country club assisted living. Bless her.

I wish I could stay and chat, but I have a staff meeting (strategy plan to screw the unsuspecting) that I'm already late for. It was so nice bullshitting with you! Maybe we can do it again sometime.
