Not too familiar with JDSU management. Do they have the cojones to nail this tomorrow? Or is this just grasping straws?

No position here, but lots of GLW.

If they are indeed firing on all cylinders like I and many others are hoping/expecting, they need to tell these analysts that are spinning the "optical slowdown web" that they haven't got a clue and need to do better homework.

Analysts need to be held more accountable for what they say. I'd prefer that most analysts keep their mouths shut and not say anything at all, CNBC included.

Absolutely.

I fully agree with your post but the thing I can not figure out how NT comes out with the earnings they had and get a 16 point drop and Amazon comes out with losses all the time and is praised by the street I am a small investor and I guess not to much expierence and I can see how a lot of traders like me will be calling it quits on my 3 holdings of NT JDSU and GLW which I has wrongly assumed were good holdings I lost 27,000.00 today since close yesterday not much by some of your standards but enough to wipe a lot of small invesors out is this some kind ogf game money managers play to drive the small guy going it alone out of the mkt if it is they are doing a good job some of us are barely hanging on wondering if we should sell some of our other holdings and load up on NT JDSU and GLW any help before tomorrows opening would be helpful Good Luck George Schulte

I think that Chambers' appearance on Powerlunch tomorrow should have some positive effect. He is usually very good on TV <g>.

If you were fully margined on JDSU of SDLI at yesterday's close and did not act quickly at the open, you would be down 50% at today's close and in most cases your account would have been fully or partially liquidated by your brokerage firm.

If anyone was fully margined on JDSU or SDLI, they shouldn't have been in the market in the first place. I hate to say it, but it's true.

I thought individual investors were supposed to be sophisticated these days. Remember diversification? Those who shrugged it off did really well on the way up. And now really poorly on the way down.

I do feel very sorry for people who lost big in the market over the past six months. However, making money in the market is not a birth right. Too many people totally disregarded the high level of risk in the market.

With short interest on the Naz at record levels

Short interest as a proportion of total daily trading volume is not at a record level, however.
