Saukriver, U of all people shouldn't be 'ticker symbol challenged' :-) SWCM : Software.Com : a leading player in the ISP messaging (email) space PHCM : Phone.Com : WAP specialists Amteva : Universal Messaging technology (messages sendable and receivable with voice or text or fax - transparent conversion to delivery media from originating media - the technology is in its infancy at this point, IMO ) VoIP : Voice-over-IP The point I was trying to make is that CSCO is well capable of turning on some "app lockin", to ensure a dominance (over time) on whatever device it may choose to use in selling a comprehensive communication solution (I'd think xSPs would be the target market). cheers, kumar
