Hi Larry, It has been a long time since I have seen one of your posts.

I agree with your valuation comments. The fact that internets crashed, made it harder for other high PE stocks to remain up there. While internets were going up, the fibre optics plays could continue to reach high multiples.

However, unlike the internet stocks which are reaching some sort of peak in their business growths, I don't think fibre optics is close yet. Maybe that is why they can keep higher PEs longer. The buildout is not complete; it is a long way from there. If prices start falling in components, the metro buildout can probably accelerate, meaning lots of demand for components. JDSU is automating to cut component costs. Companies like NT,JDSU are probably looking further out in time when they continue to expand capacity. They realize this market could be huge. I am no expert on the matter but I do think that the buildout is in the very early stages---whether there is a short term pause is unpredictable but the buildout will be done, IMHO.
I have seen some JDSU presentation of the size of this potential market....and it is huge.
Otherwise,we would have seen JDSU, NT, Corning put a stop to their expansion plans.
