I agree that neither candidate is perfect, but to call Gore clean is hallucinatory.

CNN Poll now shows Bush back in the lead. I think what we might be seeing here, and in some of the other polls, is weekend polling helping Gore. Friday polling is considered biased towards Democrats since many Republicans, who tend to be richer than Democrats, go out on the town on that night. I think the same could be said of Saturday night. This latest CNN Poll was taken on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

CNN Presidential preference poll

Wednesday's results: The lead in the topsy-turvy
presidential race between Gov. George W. Bush and Vice
President Al Gore switched hands again Wednesday with
Bush leading Gore by five percentage points, 48% to 43%.
On Tuesday, Gore led Bush 46% to 45%. Wednesday's lead
change is the ninth since the daily tracking began on Labor
Day. In the two previous presidential campaigns, the daily
tracking did not record a single lead change. In fact, in Gallup
polling prior to this year, the last time that a lead changed
hands in a presidential campaign after Labor Day was in
1980.
