So you're reading Thoreau. Excellent. Like somebody else mentioned, I read him in my early twenties when I wanted to own a piece of land, raise chickens, and marry a hippie momma. In those days, studying something that might get you a job was considered very uncool. The worst sin would have been to know anything about the market, let alone trade it. I believe he suggested that "You ever know what's important until you get rid of everything and start from scratch." Lot's of clowns are gonna learn that lesson unfortunately.
