I'm skeptical about that, but I do like the whole PC1600 and PC2100 thing. Durons will get a wonderful performance boost from PC133 to PC1600 (about +150MHz equivalency, depending on the benchmark), quite possibly leaving it better in per-clock performance and operating frequency compared to PIII (or, at least, much closer to PIII with PC2100), but the gap between Duron and Thunderbird/Athlon will be higher than it is now because the Thunderbird will be increasing by 100% in memory bandwidth and 33% in chipset->cpu bandwidth while the Duron will be increasing by 50% in memory bandwidth and 0% in chipset->cpu bandwidth (and on top of that it's getting slightly worse in terms of memory latency).
