I don't know of any books specifically on buying farmland- but there probably are some around. There's really not much difference between buying farmland and other real estate. You've got to learn the local market where you want to buy. Talking things over with a local agent or attorney that you can trust would be a good idea.

The best bargains on farm land generally come at hastily organized auctions. Particularly ones with low attendance.

I've looked at the book below (June 96 edition.) Not bad. It will at least give you a place to start. I see there's a new editon.
