- VIGN continues to be beating out the leader BVSN in several key respects

- from 9/30/00's finl's:

- VIGN's revs went from $77 mill to $110 mill; a 43% gain; vs $95 to $120 mill, or 26% gain for BVSN
- in fact, VIGN may overtake BVSN in revs in 4Q00
- excluding goodwill, BVSN was profitable by $17 mill; vs VIGN's losses; so BVSN wins here
- BVSN's a/r shot up from $26 to $92 mill; vs VIGN's steady going from $106 to $105 mill
- VIGN's - total liabils now $200 mill; but BVSN's only $114 mill; so advantage to BVSN
- VIGN's 225 mill shs o/s fully dilluted; vs BVSN's 266 mil

Bottom line: - BVSN's @ 31 5/8; vs only 23 3/8 for VIGN; so given VIGN better growht & soon to have higher revs; I can't justify the differences in stock price; & I argue the better value is VIGN by far

Carl,

Good time to average down? In our past discussions you indicated that top line growth would be rewarded. I think that valuation "methods"-if you can call them that have gone back to more traditional methods.

However at this level it is somewhat interesting. I still cannot buy any due to VIGN being one on my tax loss sellers. I'll have to wait until Feb and we'll see how she is. The big bet from your angle is what do you think the current quarter will look like? What about operating cash flows? Interested in your thoughts on these since I believe that will be what drives the value short term, regardless of the Q/Q growth % increases.
