You're falling for the liberal politburo line again. How many times has SS been "saved" from bankruptcy, only to need it again a few years later. It's a Ponzi scheme that needs to be reformed. Demographics require it. There will be too few workers to support all the retirees. If a year ago you used retirement funds that you will need in the short term to buy a risky internet stock, you made a foolish decision which I'd bet you won't repeat unless you are an idiot. If, as you suggest, your idea of investing is synonymous with "gambling," you still have lots to learn, imho. SI even has a few investment threads -- it's not just for politics <g>.
