Joe, Re: Thunderbird was a very low risk evaluation. I don't think AMD is going to do something high risk architecture-wise in Mustang. I think bigger changes will show up in Hammer family.

I think you meant 'evolution'.

A couple points:

- There is 'risk' in not being bold enough. Who cares if it works fine, if the competition crushes you.

- Precisely *because* the Tbird wasn't that big a change, I expect more with Mustang.

- Mustang work didn't begin after Tbird. It should have been running in parallel since (before) the release of the Classic. Plenty of time for some meaty tweaks and feature additions.
