i'm not an ideologue re. the market, so i'm not sure why you have addressed this to me... and i agree, we could be at 2,500 by year's end. but 5K? forget it...there's not enough ink in the world to print up the amount of money that would be needed to achieve that. that said, i can e.g. imagine that a year end bear market rally might take us back to the upper reaches of the May - now trading range...that's certainly possible. you do agree that calling this bear market a bear market is not a question of 'ideology'?
