And notice how, without the anxiety and emotions attendant on it, do you make better decisions? Watch what you do in your paper portfolio and then try to learn from that to transfer that behavior to your actual portfolio.>> I have no doubt that you are 100% correct. I feel like JW in the spring, when he got hit hard and bailed for the short term. His TA was always solid. He was taking a beating, yet had he followed his own advice, he would have been doing great. I even remember him commenting on this fact....that he was taking a creaming and if he would only listen to his own TA he would come out smelling like roses. Thats exactly how I feel. I know right from wrong, but I have let my emotions ( and the volatile market) get the best of me which has effected my investing greatly. You heard me mention yesterday morning that I was going to hold my extr and jdsu march calls...because 4 months is a long time and lots would happen and they would eventually recover. A few hours later, with both stocks tanking I sold. Then this morning I swore I was going to ride it out with extr...even if it drops some more, it will come back. I didn't sell at $71 when I left, yet I sold at $60 when I got in later, probably the low of the day. Needless to say, 2 hours later, extr back to $74 or so, and no doubt will probaly go right back to $100.....the bath I took, and it was a major one in the calls and the stock, was something that could have and should have been avoided. My emotions and my lack of faith and conviction in this market forced me to buy high and sell low...not a good thing, and I aint feeling too good about it right now. At least I didnt just sell...I did put the money to use elsewhere.....I can only hope NT and atml can help make up for the debacle in jdsu and extr. have a great night keith
