Washington, Oct. 26 (Bloomberg) -- Republican Vice Presidential
candidate Dick Cheney, former chief executive of Dallas-based
Halliburton Co., didn't vote in most local elections during the five years
he lived in Texas, Business Week reported.

Cheney voted in federal elections and skipped 14 out of 16 local
elections, the magazine said. Other chief executives, such as AT&T
Corp.'s C. Michael Armstrong, EBay Inc.'s Meg Whitman and Yahoo!
Inc.'s Tim Koogle, aren't registered to vote, the magazine said, citing
a study it commissioned that tracked the voting histories of 100 chief
executives.

Oracle Corp. Chief Executive Lawrence Ellison and Nabisco Group
Holdings Corp. Chairman Steven Goldstone are registered to vote but
don't, Business Week said. After inquiries were made, EchoStar
Communications Corp. Chief Executive Charles Ergen registered on
Oct. 10 and UAL Corp. Chief Executive James Goodwin updated his
registration on Oct. 18, the magazine said.

Some chief executives vote in every federal, state and local election,
including Berkshire Hathaway Inc.'s Warren Buffett, Southwest
Airlines Co.'s Herbert Kelleher and Caterpillar Inc.'s Glen Barton,
Business Week said. (BW 11/6 149) For the Web site of Business
