You can't legally call someone a murderer, rapist, perjurer, etc. unless they have been convicted of that crime in a court of law. To do so is potentially libelous.
Only potentially -- there are several defenses to otherwise libelous speech...

People on this thread who call Clinton a rapist or Bush a rapist are in the same boat. No difference. Neither man has been convicted of that crime in a court of law.

MY POINT EXACTLY! So... follow along, now... if that's so, why hasn't Clinton sued Juanita Broadrick? Wouldn't you sue to repair the reputational harm caused by a false and malicious allegation??

Yet, he's strangely silent on that topic -- refusing to address it. Hmmmm... now, with the law on his side, you'd think defending himself against this scurrilous charge would be child's play (I'd assert that a law school intern could handle the case but.... you know....)

The reason he won't sue for libel: truth is the first defense. He did it. He knows he did it. He won't deny it. And he won't sue for libel because it's true. Case closed.
