I've answered most of these questions before for you, both privately and publicly. But I'll do it again because I'm a nice guy. I know of no union worker who has been indoctrinated with hate; in this day and age, that's not a likely scenario. Always buy union; the workers are more committed and the products are of better quality. Re: Delta and NW: Blame management, not the workers; every business gets the union it deserves. My union leaders had nothing to do with my pension fight. There was only one union dog in that fight, and that was me. I did my homework. As a result, people are able to retire three years earlier with full benefits. I'm very proud of what I did on that front. Very proud. Am I a happy employee? I'd just as soon retire, but I've got one more kid to put through college. Do I have a genuine loyalty to my employer? Yes. More so than my employer (a big company) has for me. That may sound incongruous based on what I have posted previously, but that is the truth. I've been with the company now for more than 20 years. Obviously, I still enjoy working there to a certain degree, and the company still is pleased with the quality of my work. Do I care if my employer is profitable or successful? Yes. It helps at contract time if the company has been doing well. Do I lose sleep if my employer comes in 2 cents under street estimates for the quarter? No. I hope that answers your questions. By the way, I understand that there's a union organizing drive going on right now at your shop. My advice would be to welcome the brotherhood/sisterhood, not fight it.
