Our founding fathers also didn't intend for the oil industry to bankroll a failed businessman, lazy rich kid, former alcoholic, do-nothing governor and inexperienced candidate with a famous name, give him twice the money anyone else has then coach him and turn him into a front-man for their interests. It's an attempt to buy democracy hand-picking a telegenic Quayle type and turn him into their special interest puppet. But the scary part is they might just succeed, and the founding fathers would be disgusted. In their day only true men of knowledge and accomplishment deserved to become leaders.
