Howard,

Your question was such a good one that I passed it along to Calpine investor relations.

Here's what they had to say:
"The third quarter is typically a very successful one because of the summer peaking demand. The $80 per mwh quoted yesterday by Ann Curtis is reflective of Calpine being able to sell our generation at a higher rate due
to peak demands. Typically, you would see the higher energy prices during the second and third quarters when the weather is hot.

Our forecasting models assume a price of $35 - 45 per mwh."

So they're forcasting continued strong growth based on 35 -45 mwh. That explains the great third quarter but I think it bodes well for the future since demand continues to increase and I suspect price/mwh will increase as well.
