Hi marc & Tom, The problem with reading folks like Fleckenstein, Jim Stack, Jim Grant or Alan Abelson is that they are perma-bears and thus offer no predictive value. Gilder is the same on the other side of the pole. The thing to pay attention to is the guys who can actually be swayed by reality. Recently, Joe Battipaglia of Gruntal, a fairly rosy disposition sort and correct for the last several years on his bullishness, has changed his year end call on the NAZ. He lowered it from 5500 to 4300. Now this is significant, IMHO. Still wildly optimistic, in my view, but giving the prediction a 22% haircut is a step in the right direction. Best, Ray
