P4 Official Intro Next Month. Barrett also states his comments last month regarding RDRAM being a mistake were directed at the cost/availability of RDRAM as related to the low cost Timna project which was scrapped. His issue was not a general issue with RDRAM, it was specific to RDRAM cost/availability necessary to make the low cost Timna project cost competitive.

To rephrase Barretts comments. "INTC made a mistake thinking that by investing billions in various memory makers to insure RDRAM cost/availability, the memory makers would work in good faith to insure RDRAM cost/availability. Had INTC known ahead of time the memory makers would collude to delay and restrict RDRAM availability, INTC would not have made the initial investments and would have used SDRAM for Timna".
