I did not say that raising interest rates helped the economy - learn to read. You claimed that Reagan's tax cuts curbed inflation, when it fact it was Volcker that squeezed inflation out of the economy by drastic interest rates hikes. I also said it caused a horrible recession, not that it "pulled the economy out of the crapper" as you so eloquently stated. I did acknowledge that conquering inflation helped set the stage for the economic expansion of the 80s.

I suggest you start a new thread, maybe you can call it "Those Who Worship at the Altar of Reagan", and leave this thread for its purpose, discussing Gilder's thoughts on technology.
