The Gores didn't offer prizes for best costumes at their annual parties. But
in 1995 a reporter checking on their seemingly movie-quality attire as
"Beauty and the Beast" found the costumes were so authentic-looking
because they were from Disney studios.

Gore's staff, which first assumed the costumes were borrowed, learned
they were custom-made by Disney. The Democratic National Committee
paid $8,635 to Disney for the work to avoid more controversy over
whether improper gifts had been made.
