If the P4 performance numbers released so far are anywhere near actual performance, satisfying demand will be no problem.... Because there won't be any demand. Itanium is competitive clock for clock, but a disaster in terms of MHZ. P4 is scaling nicely in MHZ, but a looks to be a disaster clock for clock. Those ixbt numbers had better be way, way, off, or Intel is facing several years of having nothing competitive to sell. It's taken 5 years to get from PPro to P4, if they have to wait another couple of years, to get to the next core... Geeez.
