Interesting thought. I have been thinking along similar lines where a group of strong performers can mask underlying weakness. So far a market bottom has been put in. Lets see what the market can do with it today and on successive days. I think the real indication will be can the market mount a second leg of a rally. The initial leg of rallies have ended up turning back into selling, the longer term direction of the market. We also have to keep the time frame in mind. Rallies still can be playable by the short term trader. But it is what is happening in the longer term time frames that has been setting the overall character of the market.

Just some thoughts in a busy day of mine. :-)
