Good points. I think what he said is that "we have a patients bill of rights in Texas." He didn't, and I don't think it was necessary, say that he was against it. I don't know if he was or wasn't. The fact is he didn't veto it and it is law.
Last night I talked with a representative from Sprint who lives in Texas. I asked him how he thought Bush was doing and what kind of governor is he? He said he didn't understand why Gore or Lieberman even come there. They have zero chance, according to him, to win Texas. They reelected Bush with 70% of the vote. He said Bush has been an outstanding Governor. He said he believes Bush will make a great President. Contrast that with Gore's home state, Tennessee. Gore may very well lose Tennessee. And, they are the people who should know him best. I don't think he is highly thought of in Tennessee. We will see but my vote is solid Bush.
