However your problem is solved as Bush is neither ignorant nor is he any less prepared to be President than the Governor of any other state such as California, Arkansas, etc.
I disagree. The Governor of California is the most powerful official in the state. The Governor of Texas is the fifth most powerful official in the state. It makes a big difference. And Bush has never even worked very hard at being Governor of Texas.

His record as Govenror of Texas is enviable.
His record is a) very thin, and b) far from enviable if you happen to care about things like the state of the environment in Texas.

He's not a liar as Gore is
He is, just as much or more so, mostly in an effort to make it sound like he really did something in Texas. The press has been giving him a free pass on it.

and has not been part of one of the most corrupt administrations in our nation's history.
No, he just knows nothing about the Federal government. The most pervasive corruption in Washington -- the sale of the government to special interests -- goes on in Congress even more than the Executive branch, and tars both sides of the aisle equally. Bush has never said boo on this issue.

BTW, Is being a born again Christian (assuming your statement is correct) a bad thing?
Personally, I view it as neither-here-nor-there, viewed in political terms.
