ALA has joined NT and LU as 10%+ customers of JDSU.

Augurs well for ALA's fiber optics systems growth and market share; as well as forward looking statement. I had been thinking of dumping 1/2 my position today before the earnings report. Since the JDSU comment on ALA, I changed my mind. I'm holding all.

Ian.

Steve, those comments re: 6.5-7 billion were about optical business for FY2000 only. In fact they said at least 6.5 or about 7.0 for optics.
Alcatel stated around the end of the first week of October( they knew already the numbers)r after Lucent fall, that Q3 is well on track and they will grow at least 33% with indication of 35%, what would be exactly average expectation of 7.1 billion .
The highest expectation as reported by Bloomberg today is 7.28 (38% growth).
Last year they did 5.26 billion.
Alcatel was the only company which supported its forecast after Lucent preannouncement.
For most analysts the key will be revenue and income in Euro.
