I tried to edit to make more readable but failed.

I decided to look again at the current cpu2000 benchmarks to see what's who.
It's been a while and Mr. Bishop did mention 3k benchmarking well....
spec.org
Damn, I was surprised at how well SGI 2k and 3k's with r12 400 mhz
were doing. Looking at the rate benchmarks. I came to the following supositions.

Sgi has only published specs about system with more than 32 cpu up
to systems with 128. Sgi only, knows how to do bigger than 32 with
linear performance per cpu.

Sgi system performance per processor or cpu within 10% of same cpu's
for Hp and Compaq. Compaq max of 32 cpu and Hp max of 8 CPU.

SGI performance 33% better performance than sun. Sun max of 4 cpu.
Sgi performance 31+% better than IBM. IBM 16 max cpu.

SGI stuff is benchmarking outstanding.....

If a company is looking for solving problems and values the ability
to easily scale flops. SGI is the only outstanding value. Most likely
personel who do this kind of nerdy stuff are more likely to be familiar
with SGI or Linux and IMHO having cross ported many a program,
SGI irix is the most Linux like Unix.

At the low end of big problems let look at 4 cpu.
