this is one of the lessons I've learned this past year: that great DD (original or stolen) can help you find and put your trust in great companies, but that you can't predict in the short (days, weeks) or even medium (months) term how their stocks will do.

I mean, what you say is true about both NTAP and SEBL--fantastic relative performers in a withering tech bear market. But some equally great companies I hold haven't performed nearly as well over that stretch, although I continue to believe that they will do more than fine over the long term.

So--the lesson would seem to be, buy into a number of different great companies, in a number of different sectors (or subsectors), and make sure you can stay in the market long enough for most or all of the bets to pay off.
