We had a 50% haircut on the gdp today. Assuming there is no upward revision, and with the same slowdown, in three months we could be negative. Two quarters of that and we are in another fed-caused recession. The market is a leading indicator, so I believe the bust for the market could occur by next spring. Recovery? Give it six months, winter 2001. Unless we have a worldwide recession, which would lead to another bailout. In that case, I will go long when the fed pumps liquidity into the economy, either through rate cuts or coupons. The fed is in control, just follow their lead.
