CF - Take a peek at the QCOM thread to find links ot Kyocera or Samsung or some of the other cdma handest makers and you will see the direction that phones/PDAs/cameras/ video-camers are taking.

How woould you like ad-camera that was also an MP3 player? Well that is available today as are some of the MP3 phones.

It is also now becoming clear that the SnapTrack capability now beign built into the QCOM 1X ASICS will bring with it large demands for flash storage in the phones/PDAs.

Best regards,

L

Craig,
Glad to hear I am not the only one who 'doesn't get it' when it comes to this convergent mania that is sweeping the gizmo world. I think many of these are high priced marketing gimmicks that will no doubt wind up in the Smithsonian hall of fame one day. IMHO Frankly I am having a hard time finding a really good speaker wire, so that I can plug my old Wharfedale speakers into my cell phone so I can listen to my fine MP3 stereo collection. Not to mention my back pain. The phone and MMC card are light enough, but carrying those speakers around is killing me.

You know, looking at Sony's mini-disc system, this sure looks like much more value for your buck for playing MP3 music. Not just by 'oh a little cheaper' but by many multitudes of orders of magnitude. I mean come on here, $3.00 for a little tiny disk that holds 80 minutes of music versus about $90 for one CF or MMC card. Which one are going to buy for your kids this Christmas? If the answer is oh, CF of course, then tell me what other stock investments you have this year. Obviously not SNDK. :-(

Seems like a no brainer to me, but what the hell do I know.
