Infostream, You have misinterpreted what has happened. I genuinely was seeking information on DATEK for personal purposes. Had in fact gone on line and opened 6 accounts and was arranging for notarization of a power of attorney over my wife's accounts. Meanwhile, I had been mediating a problem, pro bono, for a past client. It was a pain in the next working up the management chain at DATEK, but that is the way all OLB's are organized. Looked as if upper management was going to be reasonable. However, after conducting its own investigation and admitting numerous mistakes and liability for my client's situation, my client was offered a fraction of the loss suffered in his account. I am convinced that my client has been offered a pittance simply because Datek suspects that the economics of the situation offer him no choice than to accept their ludicrous offer. To do so would, in my opinion, only further Datek's immoral and oppressive treatment of account holders.
