Mr. Phillipps is a trial lawyer and he has a vested interest in the election. It is called tort reform. His group are major contributors to democrats. They want to continue the unreasonable, unfair, and no personal responsibility litigation for cases like the pickle or coffee being too hot. File the suit and settle and get 33 to 40% of the plaintiffs money. A very nice game. Another question, why do trial attorneys deserve such a gross amount of an injured partys settlement or award? The attorney was not injured. He should be paid a reasonable hourly rate or a much lower percentage fee.
