The world is very strange. Your view, and mine, that the personal is more important than the group- is probably very threatening to people who like a group. And I don't know about you, but I am quite afraid of groups. On a higher level I suppose it is possible to embrace humanity in the abstract- but at the practical level lots of groups seem rather dangerous to individuals, or even to other groups. I don't know what the solution to that is. The group thinkers already know the solution- it's that everyone in the world should think just like them, whoever them is.
