Electronics Manufacturing Group Appoints Two Sr. Vice Presidents

CALGARY, Oct. 25 /CNW/ - David Snell, Vice Chairman and CEO of
Electronics Manufacturing Group Inc. (CDNX: EMY) today announced that Tracy A.
Holotuk, has been named Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Mike
Liu has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Manufacturing Operations.
"With EMG poised to take its core strengths into much larger markets, the
experience and leadership both these individuals bring to EMG are significant
assets," said David Snell. "I'm proud to recognize the contribution Mr. Liu
has made to EMG and I am pleased that Ms. Holotuk has decided to join the

As Senior Vice President, Ms. Holotuk is a member of the company's
executive strategic management team responsible for setting long-term business
direction. In addition to leading marketing and communications vision for the
organization, Ms. Holotuk will work to drive the evolution of EMG's market
position to aggressively grow its customer base both in North America and
around the world.

Having launched new corporate brands, hardware and software products, and
e-commerce entities in the North American market place, Ms. Holotuk brings an
extensive network and valuable insight. With expertise in comprehensive
integrated marketing, business development and public affairs campaigns within
diverse industries, Ms. Holotuk comes to EMG from the Canadian operations of
Shandwick International, in Toronto, where she served as a Vice President for
both Shandwick and Continental Technologies. Prior to joining the world's
largest communications agency, Ms. Holotuk held leadership positions in
business development, marketing and public affairs at the Canadian operations
of sgi (Silicon Graphics) and Hewlett-Packard where she developed broad
strategic marketing campaigns to raise corporate image & awareness. Before
joining HP, Ms. Holotuk served as Director of Public Affairs at the Life
Underwriters Association of Canada (LUAC).
Actively involved with provincial and federal government affairs since
the early 1980's, Ms. Holotuk has knowledge of grassroots lobbying efforts,
issues management and political campaigns. She brings hands-on experience in
managing complex campaigns and multi-year, integrated public affairs
communications programs. A longstanding member of the International
Association of Business Communicators, Ms. Holotuk served on the Communication
Advisory Board of the Information Technology Association of Canada. In
addition to studying broadcasting and journalism, she graduated from York
University with a degree in Economics.

Mr. Liu joined EMG in July of 1999 as Vice President of Quality where he
provided leading quality, document control and process development across the
corporation. As Senior Vice President of Manufacturing Operations, Mr. Liu is
responsible for all facets of EMG's three manufacturing facilities located in
Calgary, Alberta and Markham, Ontario. Mr. Liu is also tasked with delivering
customer service quality product-to-market for the company's customer base.
"Over the past year, Mike has worked to expand EMG's manufacturing assets
and refine our customer service offering. He has brought an outstanding mix of
leadership, business and technology acumen to EMG," said David King, President

Mr. Liu brings to EMG twenty-nine years of international experience in
electronics manufacturing. Previously employed with Celestica Inc., the third
largest contract manufacturer in the world, Mr. Liu held Plant Manager
positions at both the San Jose, California and Monterrey, Mexico facilities.
He was General Manager of WKK's manufacturing plants in China and responsible
for its 4000 employees. Other experience includes Director of Quality of
Novatel Communications Ltd. in Calgary and Operations Manager with Data
General Corp based in Hong Kong and Singapore. Mr. Liu started his career with
Tek-Devices Ltd. as a Project Engineer after graduating from Hong Kong
Polytechnic in Electrical Engineering. He studied Industrial Engineering at
the University of Hong Kong and obtained a MBA from Brunel University, U.K.
