Yes, Shrub definitely has that in mind, the only question which seems to be open is how much of the fund to plunk in. Of course there are all sorts of issues on how the mess would actually work. I have also heard some demmicrats raise it, so I figure it is only a matter of time as the idea really gets pushed by those that would skim the system.

I think it is a bad, bad, bad idea. The system is way underwater as it is and now we are about to pile in to a stock market bubble?

Fear not, Bobcor...the best protection from this unsound reco (using social security funds to buy stocks/indexes) is a good old bear market, which is virtually assured. After enough voters/investors/bagholders get their a$$ in a sling over the next year, support for this idea will disappear like so many bursting bubbles...
