Do you fear a possible banking crisis stemming from a boat load of sinking dotcoms?

Actually I'm more concerned about telecom loans.

banking crisis ... couldn't that possibly cause a downward spiraling action in the markets and economy?

I suspect that a "banking crisis" would galvanize Grennie into a rapid response.

What is the advantage of selling front month calls over buying front month puts?
Is it more than just getting your money up front?

Well I prefer to sell front month and buy the out months. That way I have "time decay" more in my favor. As for selling rather than buying, it's as I said just a "personal proclivity". Sorta comfortable with what "feels" like a "house bet". [Edit. I do both, I just "like" selling.]

Hi Clappy:

Still alive and somewhat well. Trying to get an education here, but the tuition is a killer! BTW, what's a "front month" put/call, with emphasis on "front month".

Sat in for the intro seminar from Manning Advanced Trading Seminars. Some interesting points made and answered some of my questions (in part) as to when to sell. Still, they wanted $2500 for the 3 day course, I was a little hesatant to sign up. Does anyone out there have any experiences with Christopher Manning and his course?????
