That is based on the assumption that demographics has something to do with the price of the stock market. I do not believe it does. For those who remember the late 80's, it was the Japanese who had the "perfect" economy and the "perfect" society. Just in time Inventory systems, no layoffs, innovation that was kicking the US. It just did not matter, their market was a bubble and the result was the destruction of it. What has really harmed their recovery is that fact that the Japanese are ardent savers and they are spending zippo on anything. I believe that the US market will have a similar devastation, but it will not take 10 years(or more) to begin the recovery.
