Jim, Ref-< Your sources on P4 new stepping in January >

You claim that that in January you predicted a new stepping for P4. Jim you or your `presumed source' were making a wild guess at first, since P4 silicon was apparently only seen in January, and it functioned at 1.5 GHz to everyone surprise, and was demoed in February. Apparently it is this silicon which has been sampled. Clearly P4 functioned on virgin silicon and was sampled on that, showing that your "source" was incorrect.

Now later in the year,(Q2-Q3), Intel did apparently discover minor marginalities in the long characterization and testing process, and finds tweaks which fix the problems and takes the part to 2 GHz. Obviously you did not know this in January ! Stop taking credit when you were wrong !

Re: 'Yes, I reported that back in January and was severely criticized by Paul and Elmer who were pumping an August release of the P4. Elmer still says it wasn't so."

No you didn't.

You stated that the original TAPE OUT had been delayed from 1999 until 2000.

Nice try to re-write your own failed history.
