October is a good time to buy stocks.

The mutual funds are selling at the end of their tax year, so you should be able to find bargains. The first few days of November haven’t changed the situation. Nevertheless, even though you’re more likely than not to turn a profit, short term options are always a gamble.

Sorry to be responding so late, but I’ve devoted my musings to the Yahoo AFCO thread. You find it entertaining, especially during the Oct.-Dec. 1999 time period in messages 108-223. The thread is at messages.yahoo.com and I posted others later, but I dropped off my participation as the stock gained more attention and others filled the gap in 2000.

The 1 year AFCO price chart at quote.yahoo.com is also interesting. It has been a good year for me!

As always, choose your stocks carefully. You can make money in a bear market or lose money in a bull market.

So, did you buy them?
