Re: if and when AMD does catch up, AMD will have the INFRASTRUCTURE problem to contend with - chip sets, motherboard -

But you're forgetting the gift from Rambus. The infrastructure problem has stymied Intel's competitors for the last 20 year. But, thanks to Intel's crazy and rather sordid affair with Rambus, AMD will have its DDR infrastructure solidly in place for desktops, portables, and servers as soon or sooner than Intel.

This time Intel is actually a little behind in motherboards and chipsets relative to its current competition.

Intel is moving forward quickly, especially in the mobile segment - and as they offer faster parts at good power requirements, it is going to take AMD longer to catch up to Intel.

And if and when AMD does catch up, AMD will have the INFRASTRUCTURE problem to contend with - chip sets, motherboard - the usual dilemma AMD faces.

Hmmm, interesting.....Going forward, Intel will not have the vaporware launch problem but AMD will have the infrastructure problem.

Can you reveal your source, or are you under a NDA?
