Dennis,

Friday's Naz action should not be viewed as a trend setter, especially in case of JDSU, as mutual funds were still selling for tax purposes. Seasonality was a big factor here.

Also, please be reminded that JDSU had more short-term traders than, say, Corning. That's why GLW was slower to respond to JDSU's positive eps (as judging from AH's stock performance) but was able to hold gains better prior to the weekend recess.

Please give yourself a few months, or at least a few weeks, before drawing a conclusion on JDSU.

Ibexx

JDSU was up to $84.50 midday Friday and dropped back to 77 at the close for a "rebound" of 2+13/16. It dropped 35 points in two days. 2+13/16 is not a very impressive rebound if you ask me. It seems to me JDSU is still heading down and Friday it just took a small gasp of air.

I honestly don't know where the stock's going. As I've said all along, I just want honest reporting. JDSU did not have a 2 13/16 pt rebound. It came from a low of 62, or thereabouts, on Thursday to close at 77 1/4 on Friday. Against enormous FUD from all quarters, I might add.

two factors worked against Uniphaz's rebound Friday

1. it was friday... hard to find new fresh sturdy commitments... last hour was weak and typical of fridays

2. with GDP at 2.7% for Q3, focus was on banks banks banks, and the accompanying OldEcon stocks that had been weak for several weeks

with such large factors working against us, I will take 2+ pts

did you happen to notice Dow up over 200 pts ???
we have two stock markets now, a very different phenomenon
Dow Theory does not cover competing forces between NYSE & Nasdaq
Naz runs usually follow a firmer NYSE foundation
we are getting the firmer foundation
next comes realization that Naz provides better growth
I expect analyst whore upgrades for FibOpt soon

sincerely, Jim
