What is wrong with 800 MHz?
I guess when your 1.13GHz solution gets recalled, 800MHz looks good.

How fast is AMD's 4-way SMP CPU solution?

As for heat - why don't you sing the praises of the ThumperBurn's 66 watt power dissipation ?

At least Intel was smart enough to make sure power dissipation of one product didin't screw them out of the mobile PC market - as AMD apparently WASN'T smart enough to do.

AMD is a small company with a single good product which they are trying to improve. How long has Intel working on PIII before they got any decent mobile performance ?

"How fast is AMD's 4-way SMP CPU solution?"
Umm, currently 1.2GHz. Two 760MP bridges using the LDT interconnect. Of course, it isn't shipping yet, but neither is Itanium. True, we haven't heard much about this particular configuration, but AMD has only been working on it for a year, not 7 like Intel. It very well may be more scaleable than Itanium too, 14 way should be very easy, larger configurations would be a large scale NUMA style system and some attention would have to be paid to topology...
