Max,

I still don't know the details of what you are trying to do, but don't install the driver for the controller during windows installation. Just connect the drive to ATA-33 or 66 and install like that.

Once you have Windows 2000 up and running, you will normally see that it doesn't recognize your additional ATA-100 controller. At this point install the device driver.

After the system reboots, if you see the controller working fine in device manager, reconnect the disk to the ATA-100 controller.

I followed this procedure with 2 non-standard IDE controllers and it worked fine for me: ABIT KT7-RAID and ABIT BP6 (dual Celeron).
