"You realize that Morgan is a pony don't you? "
It is? I thought it was a very retro, wooden framed British sports car!

Of course, I know it is a pony chip. But there is this quote I got from the CC transcript on JC's site

Q: Okay, so there is some aluminum Thunderbird that's gonna be moved out of Austin and that will allow for an increase in Duron output out of Austin?
A: Exactly right. By the end of Q1, there should be virtually no Athlons coming out of Austin, and that says that all of the Thunderbirds, and all of the new ponies that are coming out -- all the copper products -- will be coming
out of Dresden.

I didn't catch the CC live, so if this is wrong, take it up with JC. Now I discussed this point over at "Raging Bull", because I also remember that Jerry stated that Hector had talked him into extending processor production in Austin longer than originally planned. If so, what are they going to produce? K6's? Not if they reports of the K6 having final orders this month are true. How long are they going to produce Durons if Morgans are rolling out? Only Jerry knows, and curse it, he doesn't blab this stuff out like he used to. Ok, ok, it may be that AMD is able to make Tbirds at 1.2GHz in Al as is suggested by the revised power spec. If that is true, then the Duron may be moved to 1.2GHz or more, and that would extend it's life well into Q3 or Q4 because it would just be competing with the PIII and Tulatin. In that case, Morgan will primarily be a laptop chip.

I guess we will find out. Like we will eventually find out exactly what AMD is building on top of Fab30.
