<Word is that if Carnahan wins, Jean Carnahan will defer to her daughter.>>

So the acting governor would name Jean C. as Senator. Jean declines and then Wilson names her daughter?

I was driving through St. Louis when the funeral services were being broadcast on KMOX. (I tuned in hoping to catch Rush)

I must admit I was moved by many of the speeches. Carnahan must have been very well liked. But St. Louis Democrats seemed crass when they approached Mrs. Carnahan so soon after her husband's death. Good grief, the poor woman had just lost her husband and son at the same time! They should have let her mourn her loss properly.
