I cannot find the quote so I am not sure about the exact wording. But if Jerry said something along the lines of "some of 1GHz chips and all of the faster ones are from Dresden" then he could be referring to the ones in distribution. I am pretty sure his statement did not refer to wafers. In addition, the modified power spec may be for product that is not shipping, there is no real harm in having the specs higher than is actually encountered, there is a lot of harm in having specs that are lower than what is in the field. Admittedly the evidence is circumstantial, but the new power figures just fit so well on the curve.

The only real way to tell is if 1.2GHz chips show up with green faces.
