The first part of this post caught my eye.

Port density and scalability are two big selling points for CWNT Aranea.

Now that the supply resulting from institutional tax-selling is behind us, why would hedge funds which have been selling short give up the gains they have realized? When the demand from short covering is added to demand from those wanting relatively less-expensive IPO shares, the ride back up could be as rapid as the decline. I would postulate that the more nimble and savvy of the hedge funds would not just cover, but go long at this point. They could project a reversal of the factors which allowed them to take MRVC down so fast: quiet-period shackles on the company; tax-selling; weakening Nasdaq (especially, tech sector); seasonal market jitters; lack of analyst coverage; a less-accommodative Fed. They surely know that volatility works both ways. This should prove to be a very interesting November.
